SMILE-UP.（旧ジャニーズ事務所）所属アーティストが、東京ドームに一堂に会する毎年恒例の年越しコンサート『ジャニーズカウントダウン』（以下、『カウコン』）。今年は、創業者である故・ジャニー喜多川氏の性加害問題を受け、開催が見送りに。これを受け、各グループが独自の年越しイベントを発表し始めている。
12月2日、Snow Manは今月31日に公式YouTubeチャンネルで生配信を実施すると告知。『Snow Man Special Live～みんなと楽しむ大晦日！～』と題し、午後8時半～10時までは歌とダンスパフォーマンスを披露する「ライブパート」、休憩を挟んで11時45分～0時15分まではメンバー9人がさまざまなトークを繰り広げながら年越しの瞬間をカウントダウンする「カウントダウントークコーナー」の2部制で構成されるという。
